Sex Doll News: Everything You Need to Know About ROS Heads
We often receive questions about ROS heads, so we’ve put together this guide to help clarify what ROS is, how it works, and how it differs from other silicone head types. If you’re considering a sex doll with oral functionality, this article will help you understand your options.
- What is ROS (Realistic Oral Structure)?
ROS stands for Realistic Oral Structure, a technology designed specifically for silicone doll heads. It features a highly detailed and realistic oral cavity structure, including teeth, gums, and a tongue (as shown in the image), significantly enhancing realism and visual authenticity.
In addition, ROS heads come with a movable jaw, allowing for adjustable mouth openings and enabling oral functionality. This makes the interaction much more lifelike and dynamic.

- Background of ROS Development
Before 2022, silicone dolls used earlier, more rigid designs. Most silicone heads had sealed mouths that could not open, limiting interactivity. While silicone had advantages in realism over TPE, it lacked softness and flexibility.
Starting in 2022, the industry saw rapid advancements. Many manufacturers began developing new-generation soft silicone materials, improving the doll’s skin details and softness. These new materials made it possible to integrate realistic oral structures into silicone heads.
In 2023, SEDOLL formed a top-tier R&D team, composed of engineers from prestigious universities, to keep up with the trend and officially begin developing ROS technology, ushering in a new era of realism and interactivity.
- Types of Silicone Heads
Currently, silicone heads are categorized into three types:
ROS Head: Features realistic oral details (teeth, gums, tongue) and a movable jaw. Supports oral sex.
Closed-Mouth Head: The Mouth is fully sealed and cannot open. Ideal for display or photography, the makeup will be more impressive on hard silicone heads as well.
Tunnel Head: Made from 0° soft silicone with internal textured channels, similar softness to TPE. It does not include teeth, tongue, or a movable jaw. Supports oral sex.
🔎 Note: SEDOLL currently only offers ROS and Closed-Mouth heads. Tunnel heads are not available at the moment.

- Silicone Softness Grades (SEDOLL Standard)
SEDOLL uses a three-level grading system for silicone softness:
Softness Level Description
Softness Level | Description | Notes |
0° | Ultra-soft | similar to TPE feel |
5° | Medium soft | default for ROS heads |
10 | Hardest | default for closed-mouth heads |
Softness Selection Guidelines
ROS Heads: Only compatible with 0° or 5° silicone
Default is 5°, as it balances softness with the ability to support hair implantation (eyebrows, eyelashes, hair)
0° is softer but too delicate for implanting, as the hair may fall out easily
Closed-Mouth Heads: Can use 10° or 5° silicone
The default is 10° for better makeup and details
5° is used on models with very small eye sockets to prevent tearing
Note: The 0°/5°/10° labels are internal terms used for reference and are not industry standards.

FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions)
- What is a ROS head and how is it different from other heads?
A ROS (Realistic Oral Structure) head has detailed oral anatomy (teeth, gums, tongue) and a movable jaw, enabling realistic open-mouth expressions and oral functionality. It’s far more interactive and lifelike than a closed-mouth or tunnel head.
- What softness options are available for ROS heads?
ROS heads are available in 0° and 5° silicone, with 5° as the default.
5°provides enough softness for realism while being firm enough for hair implantation.
- What’s the difference between 0° and 5° silicone?
0°: Very soft, similar to TPE. Excellent tactile experience but not suitable for hair implantation due to material softness.
5°: Softer than traditional silicone but firm enough to support implanted eyelashes, eyebrows, and hair. Recommended for daily use.
- Which silicone hardness is most prone to tearing?
Surprisingly, harder silicone (10°) is more likely to tear because it’s less flexible and can’t deform under pressure.
Tearing often occurs in high-stress areas like the eye corners or the mouth corners.
- Why is 10° silicone used for closed-mouth heads?
Closed-mouth heads don’t need to move, so 10° silicone ensures better shape stability.
However, models with small or delicate facial features may use 5° to avoid tearing.
- Why can’t ROS heads use 10° silicone?
10° is too hard to allow jaw movement and increases tearing risk, especially at the mouth corners.
That’s why ROS heads are limited to 0° and 5° only.
- Can I customize the softness and functionality?
Yes. SEDOLL supports custom combinations:
ROS Heads: 0° or 5°
Closed-Mouth Heads: 5° or 10°
Choose based on whether you need hair implantation or frequent interaction.
- Can ROS and Closed-Mouth heads be swapped on the same doll?
No, ROS and Closed-Mouth heads are built using completely separate molds with different internal structures.
ROS heads have complex oral mechanics and support a movable jaw
Closed-mouth heads are structurally solid with no internal cavity
🧠 Only some head models are available in both ROS and Closed-Mouth versions. Please confirm before purchasing.

9. Is there a weight difference between silicone heads of different softness levels? Is there a weight difference between ROS and closed-mouth heads?
There is almost no weight difference between silicone heads of different softness levels; they are generally consistent.
Similarly, there is no noticeable weight difference between ROS and closed-mouth heads; they are basically the same.
Summary
ROS heads are a great option for those seeking realism and functionality. With detailed oral structures and a movable jaw, they offer a lifelike experience that stands out. If you have more questions or need help choosing the right head type, feel free to contact our team anytime.
